Happy 2020!

It's the start of a new year again, hope that this year will be a good year, get a good increment, good bonus and also at work everything will be smooth, but most importantly is everyone stay fit stay healthy. Oh tomorrow baby start her K1, she seems to be aware of it and looking forward, I guess that is a good thing. I took leave tomorrow just to accompany her for the first day and also make sure wife knows how to get there. Cannot use e-scooter so changed to take bus, na beh speaking of e-scooter suddenly blood a bit boiling, thanks LTA for banning, great job. Anyway, Happy New Year!

Sneaky Foodpanda Riders

I notice quite a few times that the foodpanda rider like to click sold earlier because they are late, some even power, 15 minutes before actually arriving they click sold already. Today this rider is 7:34pm click sold but actual arrival time 7:40pm. Come late no sorry nothing and he look like sibei sian, not the tired kind of sian, just plain bo chup kind of sian. People always like to find ways to workaround, for the good never mind, already late still want to do sneaky things like this. Don't want to complain also, after all he still working for a living, but he should buck up, this kind of practice and attitude won't last long, someday someone who is not as nice as me is going to complain, just a matter of when. Good luck to this guy.

Side of Singapore Tourist Don't See

Image
You don't see this sight at tourist spots, but if you visit residential areas, this is pretty common, especially prevalent in older estates. Another problem with older estates is some people they don't ever clean their house, when you walk past there will be a stench, then cat feeding, pigeon feeding also a major problem, people just feed strays and then leave the food around, attracting ants, rats and cockroaches. Also, high rise littering, this morning I heard loud thuds, went to kitchen, somebody threw leftover food out of the window. So disgusting and filthy.

Today Met a Hungry Ghost

Wife wanted to eat Korean BBQ so we went to the Ssikkek at Chinatown. Today don't know why so packed but I guess mostly are foreigners, looked like tour groups and foreign students. When I was trying to get some mashed potatoes, got this foreign woman, dressed quite formal, like a proper dress but kind of old fashioned type, like 1980s or 1990s kind of dress. She kept pushing me, as if the food will run away, I got fed up and turned around and told her to stop pushing. She just smiled, I don't even know if she understood me, or it's just perfectly normal to push people from where she came from, no apology, just a stupid smile, great. I know which country she is from, can tell from her language, but I don't want to name it, no point. My opinion is that if foreigners want to come, no problem at all, always welcome, but don't bring along bad habits, you can push people over food in your own country I don't care but here in Singapore people don't do that, so

Just Another Saturday

Image
Typical Saturday, go shopping mall, eat lunch, buy stuff, buy stuff tonight eat, getting kind of repetitive. At least lunch was great, the dumplings were very nice and juicy, the chinese roti prata also power, eat with the brinjal really shiok.

HDB Window is a Giant Trash Bin

Image
Today good catch, even got oreo, wonder what present I will receive next time, kind of exciting. This reminds me of the used, bloodied sanitary pad that I saw in my neighbourhood. Report to NEA also no use, done that, at most they come stake-out for 10-15mins and go back write report say didn't notice anything unusual, then update me saying they staked-out but didn't find anything so basically nothing will change. Report to HDB they will most likely refer me to NEA, then back to square one. Call police they will refer me to NEA, then back to square one. So might as well just do nothing since throwing things out of window is so common that nobody cares. Update: I reported to NEA anyway, don't really hope for any change, see how it goes.

Yeah! Long Weekend!

Been looking forward to this long weekend, even though I have no special plan in mind but still feels great to be able to rest, get away from the work for a while. So tomorrow maybe we will drop by Pasir Ris, I heard from my colleague it looks completely different now, the resorts have been replaced with hotels and now they have level 2 shopping areas. Last time I went was so long ago, can't even remember when. Singapore develop at such a super fast pace, never go a place for too long next time you go totally different, just look at the Sim Lim Square area, now look totally different. Even the Outram Park area also totally changed. Sometimes feel a bit sad that the places that I went to when I was younger are now gone, a bit scary also.

Vesak Day 2017

Image
Holiday right in the middle of the week, bring family go vivocity, walk to sentosa and back. Today at sentosa somehow walk until end up in the long hallway of hotels, see so many China tour groups, all come here donate money to our casino. Also bought some krispy kreme donuts, 12 for $26.50, actually quite pricy but then the quality is there, can tell the ingredients not some cheapo ingredients, see even have kit kat and the hershey cookies and cream chocolate. Very rich flavour, very sweet, way better than that dunkin donuts.

Happy Chinese New Year 2017!

It's the time of the year where most stores are closed. Yesterday eve went to Marina Bay to see the River Hongbao event, very beautiful, many lights and display, lots of people and many food and games to play, perfect for family. And I thought eve no place to eat, actually plenty of places to eat, don't even need to book, unless you want those typical Chinese restaurant then have to book, for example MBS the Todai not much people, the no signboard restaurant just behind esplanade also quiet but at night very packed, damn, wasted my eve meal at Sakae Sushit at Marina Square, now the quality drop a lot, or maybe just the Marina Square branch, the Hana Maki also shrunk until very miserable, I think they cutting cost. So today first day of CNY, we went to Sheng Siong to buy some steamboat stuff for tonight's dinner. We never go visit friends or relatives, sounds like very anti-social lol, go around visit also sian la, have to travel, might as well slack and relax at home

Welcome to 2017!

Another year gone in the blink of an eye, I wish this new year will be a great year for everyone! Most important is everyone stay healthy because health is one of the many things money can't buy. This new year I hope wife can go for her heart operation, baby's operation already settled and she has recovered well. I also hope this new year my increment and bonus will be good, also hope that I can supplement my income with stocks trading. This year my strategy is different, no more REITs and dividends, last year focused on dividends and didn't earn much, good thing is never lose money. Also hope that parents also stay healthy, but actually also don't need to worry thanks to Medishield Life, this is one of the best things the government have done.

Pearl Centre 21 Nov 2016

Image
Took a photo as memento, I think government going to tear down this building soon, very old and smelly building, every time I walk past there is the smell of piss, walk inside even worse, the stench can be unbearable at times. Got one time spot one old man pissing outside the building in broad daylight, jia lat. But I like the food there, there used to be a Malay stall with excellent and cheap food, and a chicken rice stall at the end also power, don't know where they moved to.

Singlish in Oxford English Dictionary!?!

Yesterday while browsing news at Asiaone mobile site, I saw this article which mentioned Singlish and Oxford dictionary, on closer look I realized that it's The Oxford Dictionary, the same "brand" that I used when I was in primary and secondary school, all the way until internet became so common that one can google anything. I used to have a mini Oxford dictionary which helped me a lot during my early years, but nowadays I just google. Anyway I find it funny that they added Singlish into their dictionary because Singlish is really a mix of different languages and dialects and short forms, like many people say, it's a Rojak language, and Rojak is Malay for mix together. But then if these words are so commonly used by people, I guess it would be helpful to be included, but in a Singlish dictionary or something, but since they already included, so be it lol. These are the 19 words that they added, most of which I have used except Chinese helicopter, lepak an

Regarding Lek Lai

Image
First time hear of this thing, my wife's grandmother just gave her this black object that looks like a black stone, more like charcoal, according to my wife, if the wearer chants something the wearer will become invisible lol wtf. Lek Lai in Gold Frame with Gold Necklace So my wife happily went to a gold shop at MBK and framed the thing in gold, the frame cost 4000 Baht, then she hook it up with her gold necklace, I think the necklace cost 20,000 Baht, now I wonder how much this stone cost, one can only hope that the stone cost more than the gold otherwise what's the point of putting it in gold frame and gold necklace. I did some research online and found nothing that I can believe, seems like there is no scientific study done on this object, what I can find online is nothing but magical nonsense, saying it is indestructible as in even bullets cannot damage it, there's even a place in Kanchanaburi where people can insert one small pieces of this thing into the

CNY 2016 Day 1

Yesterday had our reunion dinner at parents house, and today visited them to give them red packets, gave them $200 each, gave my niece and nephew $20 each, think that's it, never see anyone else so no need to give more, only see my neighbour but too bad he don't have children, instead he gave my daughter, niece and nephew, but his wife is pregnant now so next year I can give back. I find this ang pao thing kind of pointless, you give and take back, might as well don't give, like that easier, everyone no stress. Anyway CNY getting more and more boring, today go eat, then go temple, then go home, nothing much, not like when we were little kids everyone will gather at my grandmom's house, after she pass away everyone just stopped gathering, just like in army you see the singhs at one corner, the bengs one corner, the geeks one corner, the outcasts one corner lol. Now I actually look forward to going back to work, CNY too boring.

5 More Days to Chinese New Year

Time really flies man, so fast going to be CNY again, this year me and family decided to dine at home so me and sister each gave my mom $150 to cook at home, way cheaper than eating out. Anyway stay safe, safe at work, drive safe, safety number one, every time before CNY have tragic accident so be extra careful.

Another Year Ending Soon

Looking back at the start of this year , that time my wife was a few months pregnant and baby's due date was 15 Jun 2015, ended up deliver on 20 May and thankfully baby is healthy except for her small hole in heart which is nothing serious. So what major things happened this year for me, arrival of baby of course, also got a promotion with good increment and bonus, other than that nothing much, haha my life is so boring. I hope next year also can get a good increment and bonus, and hope wife and baby's health insurance will go through, even if don't go through at least still have Medishield Life which is still great just that there are some limitations, and it doesn't cover overseas hospitalization. Also hope that baby's hole in heart will close by itself so no need any surgery, but I think wife might need to go for operation to change her heart valve, doctor say there is improvement from her earlier echo scan but he still recommend changing it. Anyway I hope

This Mercedes Driver Scared Her Car get Wet

Just now me, wife and baby took taxi home, it was raining, when we reached home, there was this Mercedes parking at the drop-off shelter, I thought there was no driver so I asked the taxi uncle to drop us behind the Mercedes, after we got off the car then we realized the driver was inside, it was a young girl, she was talking on the phone and when my wife looked at her, she turned her head away, obviously she saw us, how can she not notice a taxi behind her. Instead of moving her car out to let our taxi come into the shelter, she just parked there and talked on the phone, like that also can, wife was carrying baby and walking in the rain, I was carrying the pram and a big bag of stuff walking in the rain just because she was afraid her Mercedes would get wet or catch a cold, what a selfish person, but I told myself no need to get angry over this, karma will get her one day.

Celebrate Singapore's Golden Jubilee!

Today is the start of our super long weekend, holiday all the way until next Monday. I went online to search for "SG50 promotions" and there are a lot of discounts or freebies for Singaporeans and/or PR. Now I'm at a loss of where to go, I will take a look first, but I think during this holiday SG will be bustling with activities, I'm sure everywhere will be crowded, I think on 09 Aug will be especially crowded because of our National Day Parade, I believe the parade this year will be more spectacular than ever. Going to bring wife and baby out and enjoy the holiday spirit!

SG Funpack 2015

Today I received a letter telling me that I can collect the SG Funpack at RC centre or community centre near my house, but thing is need the SG Funpack Postcard which was sent to me earlier on, by now I have no idea where that card went to haha, anyway it sounds like it's going to be one hell of a long queue, it's free and there will be free refreshments so there should be a crazy long waiting time and massive crowd which puts me off immediately, anyway doesn't matter now that I lost the postcard.

This Guy Really Anti-Foreigner to the Max LOL

Image
I really don't understand how some people can hate foreigners so much, even spouse of Singaporeans also hate lol. Well, life goes on, I can't stop them from being bitter all the time right ;) By the way the forum is sgtalk, it's getting worse, too many negative people there, most discussions end up in mudslinging and moderator doesn't seem to bother, maybe they gave up lol, if me I also give up, I visit lesser nowadays. That's why forum is never a good place for discussion, at least not our local forums, if you see ang moh forums, it's much more serious, they can discuss topics maturely and you can mostly get your queries answered.
