Army Really Famous for Cock-Ups
Today I went to work and my right chest kept twitching non-stop due to the muscle tear injury during my ICT, so annoying and disruptive and until today I still haven't get the referral letter from my camp medical centre.
So I called the NS hotline, they forwarded case to my unit, basically the hotline people cannot do anything, might as well I call my unit directly. But at least my unit returned call really fast and told me my appointment was on 19 Jan lol, today 26 Jan and now then I know I have an appointment which is over, the guy said somebody informed me, yeah more like nobody informed me, the guy said he only received the letter last Friday which was 22 Jan and he mailed out yesterday or today, joker right, appointment over then mail out to me for fuck, contradicting right, if he received the letter last Friday, by then appointment already over, then why would anyone inform me? Really cock and bull story.
Then I asked him about the cost, he said I don't have what M something form, without that I will have to pay for myself, I told him I injured myself during ICT IPPT, is it considered service injury he said yes, but I should have informed the MO on that day, which I did, I told MO I hurt myself during IPPT and he only say he will refer me but never say anything about whether I will need to pay, but I also never ask, I thought if MO refer then should be army pay, guess not, have to explicitly confirm and get the M something form.
After that he told me to contact NUH directly, at that point I guess there was nothing else he could do, so I said never mind, I will call NUH. So I called NUH appointment hotline, the girl told me I have an appointment today at 3 PM lol, another shocker, I asked her how come not 19 Jan, she only say 19 Jan was the original appointment and today I have one. Again nobody informed me, anyway I am at work so obviously I cannot just run off to attend the appointment so I told her to cancel. Before that I asked if I attend without the referral letter then what is the charge, she said I will be charged private rate, first visit is $130+, subsequent also $100+ since private rate, shocker again, kan nin na, book appointment for me but never send me referral letter and also never inform me, expect me to pay private rate right. Really give up.
Then after a while somebody from the medical centre called me, he told me the same thing, need the M something form before army will pay for me, but he say I can look for my S1 to approve the form, by then I really no time no energy to chase so I said ok.
After that I went to see doctor at polyclinic to see if I can get referral letter, doctor say no need to refer to specialist, even if she refer it will take 3-4 months, I guess if army refer then much faster, so she told me to try some medication first, she gave me some medication for the nerves, some sort of painkiller and anti-inflammation drug, eat 2 weeks and see how, she also said don't think it is permanent damage, maybe she have x-ray eyes but at least it sounded comforting, anyway hopefully by then the twitching and bruising gone.
I hope only admin side cock-up, if combat side also this cock-up, really no hope for Singapore but being in combat unit I can say also equally cock-up, just think, army is full of conscripted men, you force a bunch of people to serve so what do you get, of course half-hearted servicemen so I don't really blame those people who cock-up, me myself was also forced into service so I totally understand, so based on this I will not be complaining to any authority regarding this terrible experience, what's the point, if I complain at most some NSF kena, no point. Anyway I am going to MR soon, 1 more high-key and I can get the fuck out of army.
